The basic definition of Health insurance is that it's a binding contract between you and an insurance company that helps cover the cost of medical care. When you pay your monthly premium, you gain access to a range of health benefits, including doctor visits, hospital stays, prescription drugs, and preventive services. In today’s healthcare landscape, where a simple emergency room visit can cost thousands, health insurance is more essential than ever. I call it essentially GoFundMe insurance (the main reason we pay for health insurance is for the big stuff- so we don't end up on a GoFundMe or have to declare bankruptcy due to medical debt should something major occur).
For self-employed individuals or those without employer-sponsored coverage, health insurance is the only safeguard against the financial risks of unexpected illness or injury. While it is more expensive that I would like, it does it offer peace of mind, and many plans also include free preventive care services like annual checkups and vaccinations, free telemedicine, mental health services, etc which all help to keep you healthier in the long run.
Choosing the right health insurance plan can seem overwhelming, but that’s where my professional guidance and years of experience can help.
