Toady we'll briefly go over PPO Network plans and HMO Network plans. PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) plans and HMO (Health Maintenance Organization) plans are two common types of health insurance plans, but they work very differently. An HMO plan typically requires you to choose a primary care physician (PCP) and get referrals to see specialists. These plans typically have lower monthly premiums and lower out-of-pocket costs, but you must use doctors within the network to be covered. Here in Tennessee there are more PPO's available than HMO's but I still think HMO's have a place for a subset of people.

On the other hand, PPO plans offer more flexibility. You don’t need a referral to see a specialist, and you can see out-of-network doctors—though it may cost more. PPOs are a better choice in my opinion for those who want more control over their healthcare options and access to a broader network of providers.

Understanding the difference between HMO and PPO plans is crucial for selecting the right coverage for your health needs and financial goals.
